Gallaudet University, the world’s first and only liberal-arts college for Deaf students, was a revolutionary concept. Its first superintendent, Edward Miner Gallaudet, was the youngest son of Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, co-founder of the American School for the Deaf. We present a timeline of milestones from the first proposals for a college to the present day.
